About us
5th Period: A supervised community hub for teens (13-18) featuring gaming, study hall, mentoring and teen events.
5th Period is a safe, supervised, and dynamic environment for teenagers (ages 13-18) in our community. Designed to bridge the critical gap between the end of the school day and the evening, 5th Period is more than just a lounge-it's the destination for connection, creativity, and growth. We offer a unique blend of recreational and educational activities, including a state-of-the-art video gaming zone, a dedicated study hall, and a pioneering mentorship program connecting teens with local entrepreneurs. Our signature offering transforms Friday and Saturday evenings into the week's highlight, providing a safe, vibrant, and alcohol/drug-free "place to catch a vibe" after a long week of school or high school football games. By becoming the favorite "PERIOD" of a teen's day, we aim to foster a stronger, safer, and more inspired community

Meet Patrick & Mariesha Russell
Owner/ CEO & Co-CEO/ Event Coordinator
Both hailing from Panama City, FL have be living in the beautiful community of Douglasville, GA since 2017. While both being established in the their respected healthcare fields as Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant and a Clinical Mental Therapist/ Social Worker; they both wanted more their community.
While having our own teenager, we've noticed the lack of attention needed toward the adolescent group in our community. Currently the adolescent group lack anything posiitive and productive to do through out the community that isnt quickly observed as rambunctious or disorderly. When truth be told we've all been in that "Gap" trying to find things to do at the adolescent age.
The Problem:
The final school bell rings, but for many teens, the most challenging part of the day begins. The hours from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, known as the "after-school gap," and weekend evenings present significant community challenges: ●Unsupervised Risks ●Nowhere to Go ●Academic Needs vs. Environment ●The Post-Game Problem
The Solution:
5th Period is the definitive answer. We provide a multi-faceted space that is both a sanctuary and a springboard, operating as a membership-based lounge with the following core "subjects": ●The Arcade (Electives) ●The Library (Study Hall) ●The Boardroom (Entrepreneurship 101) ●The Commons (Friday Night Lights Vibe)
